Better Flotation. Improved Maneuvering. More Flexibility. No one tractor solution can fit every grower's needs. But if you're a row crop producer in a region with challenging soil types, putting tracks on the ground could be your best option for in-field power. Magnum Rowtrac tractors are designed to strike the perfect balance, with tire options that fit your row width and soil type and an oscillating rear-track design that keeps the power on the ground through the tightest turns. These tractors keep four point of ground contact, which reduces surface pressure and means less weight transfer from front to rear than two-track systems. And it offers maneuverability and handling comparable to a wheeled tractor.
Advanced Tire Technology
Out in front, Magnum Rowtrac features advanced high-tech tires that work with lower air pressure – about 40 percent reduced PSI compared to traditional MFD tractor tires. That means a longer footprint on the ground for reduced compaction. Multiple tire options make it easy to match rear track width to fit most any row crop practice.
The Track Design That Changed an Industry
This exclusive rear track oscillates and pivots to maintain a flat footprint that keeps the power on the ground. This design produces traction that is unaffected by hitch or drawbar load, plus improved ride over terraces and other uneven terrain.
Sometimes You Need to Work More Than Just All Day
It’s unavoidable. Circumstances often require you work in darkness. Magnum tractors offer 360-degree visibility with bright HID lights, so you can always see around the tractor and implements. The updated cab roof not only enhances the overall appearance for the tractor, they also allow the integration of two new optional LED lighting packages. You can even see the outside row units of your largest planter, which means you can get out and make an adjustment, fuel up or do whatever you need on those long days that require everything you have.
Engines That are Proven
Magnum Series tractors use 6.7-liter and 8.7-liter engines produced by FPT Powertrain Technologies, a Case IH sister company and one of the world’s largest engine manufacturers that produces nearly 3 million engines a year. FPT provides the research and testing required to deliver the reliability and durability needed to power today’s agricultural tractors. The 6.7-liter and 8.7-liter engines are used in Magnum Series tractors, as well as the Puma® and Steiger®tractor series and Case IH Axial-Flow®combines.
6.7 Liter Engine for Magnum 180-240 Tractors
Magnum 180–240 row-crop tractors are powered by our 6.7-liter engine. The reliable, proven performance of this engine was introduced by Case IH in 2003 on Maxxum Series tractors, in the Puma Series in 2007 and finally in our mid-horsepower Magnum Series tractors in 2009. The design melds optimum fuel efficiency with quick response to changing conditions and the quality and reliability to handle the toughest farming conditions under heavy engine loads. And like other engines in Case IH tractors, it is Tier 4B compliant and features the Selective Catalytic Reduction system to meet more restrictive emission standards without sacrificing fuel economy or performance.
8.7 Liter Engine for Magnum 250-380 Tractors
The 8.7-liter engine powers the Magnum 250–380 tractors and is designed to meet the tough conditions found in agriculture under heavy engine loads, delivering optimum fuel efficiency and ease of service. This proven engine was introduced by Case IH in Axial-Flow® combines in 2006. It’s ready for your toughest field conditions with up to 35 additional engine horsepower at 2,000 rpm rated speed. And it’s all compliant with the next stage of emission standards that require cleaner exhaust.
CVT or Full Powershift
CVT and Full Powershift transmissions are designed to provide customer solutions to match their operation needs .
New CVT Transmission
The CVT has infinite gear ratios that allow the Magnum's operating controller logic to find the perfect balance of power and efficiency for the work you need to get done. These limitless possibilities let the CVT find the best gear ratio through varying conditions, giving you improved fuel economy and more efficient performance.
• 4-range transmission provides more mechanical efficiency to maximize available power.
• CVT split throttle design provides easy control of operating parameters to achieve operation speeds and maximize fuel efficiency.
• Engine and Transmission automatically work together to achieve desired speed without ever breaking traction to the ground.
• Active stop gives the operator the ultimate in control to provide smooth acceleration from a stop under any load.
For Magnum 180-240 Tractors
Get the maximum benefit from your Magnum models 180–220 (rated at 155 PTO hp to 205 PTO hp) with either the standard, 19-speed, full-powershift transmission or the industry's leading Continuously Variable Transmission to provide smooth power to the ground. The CVT transmission is standard on the Magnum 240.
For Magnum 250-380 Tractors
The Magnum 250–380 (rated at 205 PTO hp to 315 PTO hp) features a 19-speed Full Powershift with 19th Economy Gear (25 mph) as the standard transmission. Choose from a 19-Speed with 19th Fast Gear (30 mph), 18-Speed or 23-Speed with Shift Through Creeper transmission as optional. Magnum models 250-380 are available with the smooth-shifting CVT transmission. Diesel Saver™ APM provides maximum fuel efficiency, managing engine rpm and transmission speed. The CVT transmission is standard on the Magnum 380.
Work Longer and Stronger with the Four-Way Suspended Cab
When weather windows are tight, operators tend to spend longer hours in the cab. The Magnum cab is designed to keep operators comfortable and productive for every one of those hours, with a smooth ride and superior suspension. And the simple, intuitive controls quickly turn every operator into an expert.
Diesel Saver™ Automatic Productivity
Set the ground speed you need, we'll do the rest. The Diesel Saver™ Automatic Productivity Management system takes the guesswork out of setting the right gear/rpm combination. It does the job for you. Wet spots and hills shouldn't affect your fuel economy. Diesel Save keeps you moving at the same speed and give you up to 25 percent improvement in fuel economy and power performance through changing field conditions. No one else offers a more effective solution. Or a simpler one.
The Newest Operating Controls Built the Way Producers Wanted
We relied on extensive input from producers to design the new Multi-Control Armrest console in our Magnum tractors. Key functions are at your fingertips and the console includes the largest touchscreen in the industry, the AFS Pro 700. Seamlessly control autoguidance functions, hydraulic flow and other adjustments. For even easier use, the touchscreen can be customized to display the operating information most important to you. Work with third-party implements and move the console between Case IH equipment, too. All this functionality from one screen. Because that’s the way you wanted it.
Front Axle Suspension
Keeping all your tires on the ground is crucial for stability and efficient performance from your tractor. The Magnum’s front-axle suspension keeps the wheels to the ground for stability, traction and control over rough terrain. And it provides a better ride at higher speeds. This simple design keeps you from bouncing and jarring in the cab. The solid construction requires less maintenance than other systems. Its suspension is ready to perform anywhere you need the Magnum to go.
Strong, Versatile Hydraulics That Are Ready for Everything
Hydraulic flow that handles all your row-crop applications and even takes care of loader and mower work allows you to be ready for anything. Plus, the new flow-compensated, quick-connect valves make your operation even more efficient. Set the system how you want, and it adjusts for changing conditions throughout the day.
Hydraulic Capacity:
• Magnum models 250-380: 44 to 75 GPM hydraulic flow
• Magnum models 180-240: 35 to 60 GPM hydraulic flow.
No Other Row-Crop Tractor Gives You a Better Turning Radius
The magnum's industry-best turning radius supplies you with precise, tight turns. Its top-off-the-line maneuverability was created without sacrificing tractor strength. The improved Surround Frame helps deliver power to the ground for those applications that absolutely must have it. It's the versatility you demand from a row-crop tractor.
A Tractor that Works with the Tools and Technologies You Need
The Case IH AFS Pro 700 color display with touchscreen monitor offers precise tractor management and control over Case IH planters, sprayers and drills. Plus, it features ISO11783-compliant instrumentation that works with third-party manufacturers.
The factory-installed AFS AccuGuide™ autoguidance system offers unsurpassed dependability and convenience and your tractor arrives closer to field-ready. The AFS AccuGuide is an easy-to-use autoguidance system that eliminates the need to steer in open fields. Its display, controller and receiver move freely among equipment. Sub-inch repeatable autoguidance accuracy eliminates the guesswork of row spacing to ensure each one is identical, which means fewer end-of-row turns and overlaps. The system maintains perfectly straight and repeatable rows with RTK accuracy, and it controls traffic patterns and decreases compaction, which brings higher yields.
AFS Software pulls together numerous sources of data about your farm and gives you the information you need. You can layer yield and moisture maps over aerial photographs; customize charts, graphs and layered maps for further analysis of variety/hybrid, plant population and soil topography. What's more, you can compare dimensions and field-to-field yields from year to year.
Day-to-Day Service That's Easy as Standing Up
Checking your tractor's transmission, oil or hydraulic fluid can be done while standing on the ground. There are no steps to climb or hard-to-reach places. Because your tractor needs to keep running, the Magnum makes it easy for you to quickly and effortlessly keep on top of maintenance. And Case IH dealers and technicians are ready to handle any service issues to keep you going. We also have a 600-hour engine oil service interval, because giving you maximum uptime is part of every tractor Case IH makes.
Scraper Application
Thanks to class-leading power, Case IH Magnum tractors offer unmatched performance in tough pulls. You can count on increased productivity in your land leveling and commercial scraper operations. With up to 14% power growth and up to 35 additional engine horsepower, the powertrain of a Magnum tractor is designed to efficiently pull scrapers at speeds above 4 mph.
